Lime Wood Launches ‘The Forest Kitchen’ with Chef Friends
Fire, Feast & Flavour Pop-up Restaurant in the New Forest
This summer, Lime Wood is lighting up Sundays with the launch of HH&Co Forest Kitchen, a new pop-up outdoor restaurant that will run over the summer months with an exciting roster of guest chefs. Cooking outside alongside Angela Hartnett and Luke Holder, chefs include Valentine Warner, Julius Roberts, Jorge Paredes, Tom Brown and Jess Filbey.
A series of sun-soaked lunches in the grounds, The Forest Kitchen is all about fire-led cooking, exceptional ingredients, and seasonal dishes. Set beneath the Cedar trees on the lawn, each event will spotlight a stellar lineup of some of the UK’s most exciting kitchen talents who will take turns at the Asado wood-fired grill, cooking alongside Angela and Luke. Expect bold, seasonal menus that speak to their unique culinary signatures, all infused with the smoky theatre of open-flame cooking.
Sunday 8th June : Grape, Fire & Feast with Angela, Luke & the HH&Co Team
To kick off the Forest Kitchen pop-up series, Lime Wood’s very own Angela Hartnett, Luke Holder and the HH&Co team at the helm. Expect dishes smoked over vines and a menu bursting with Italian influence, bringing both Angela and Luke’s signature styles to the grill. What a way to set the stage for a summer of unforgettable alfresco dining experiences at Lime Wood.
Sunday 29th June: Earth, Fire & Feast with Valentine Warner and Julius Roberts
In June, the Forest Kitchen brings an exciting collaboration between Julius Roberts and Valentine Warner, both true champions of nature’s pantry. Julius, a true advocate for sustainable farming, with a highly engaged following and a true farm-to-table chef. Valentine, a master of wild ingredients, most likely gathered from his immediate surroundings. Together, they will combine their talents to create a menu that celebrates the raw, untamed flavours of the wild land, showcasing dishes that embody the essence of the natural world.
Sunday 13th July: Meat, Fire & Feast with Jorge Paredes
Jorge Paredes is head chef at OMA in Borough Market, a restaurant from David Carter inspired by the Greek isles and flavours of the surrounding coastal regions. With over 20 years of experience, Jorge has cooked in some of London’s most renowned kitchens, including Coya, Barrafina and Michelin-starred Sabor. Since opening in April 2024, OMA has been awarded a Michelin star and was named ‘Opening of the Year’ in the Michelin guide, with Jorge at the helm. Jorge brings his signature style of seasonal fire cooking and bold Mediterranean flavours to the forest. Expect open-flame feasting inspired by his journey from the Ionian coast to South London.
Sunday 24th August: Fish, Fire & Feast with Tom Brown
Coming to the Forest Kitchen in August Michelin-starred chef, Tom Brown. Originally from Cornwall, Tom, a protégé of acclaimed Cornish chef Nathan Outlaw, now leads Tom Brown at The Capital and launched his own venture in November 2023, the glorious Pearly Queen oyster bar and seafood restaurant in Shoreditch. His menu promises bold, fearless seafood dishes, showcasing exceptional quality.
Sunday 7th September: Wild, Fire & Feast with Jess Filbey
Jessica Filbey, chef at London’s Portobello Road hangout Canteen, is stepping in to take over the grill for one feast only. She’s trading her pasta rollers for open flame, bringing Canteen’s signature mix of casual elegance, seasonal precision, and unfussy brilliance to a menu built around smoke and indulgence. Expect serious heat, seasonal sides, and enough charred indulgence to make you forget this isn’t a long lunch on Portobello.
The Forest Kitchen lunches are a relaxed afternoon affair. Starting at 2pm with nibbles, drinks and a little live music, guests and chefs have the chance to chat around the grill before being seated at 2.45pm for a low-key welcome. After a short introduction to the meal from the chef and the HH&Co team at 3pm, lunch is served from 3.15pm, with the afternoon unfolding at an easy pace and wrapping up around 6pm.
